毒性	A potent lacrimatorwhich is chemically stable and retains its irritancy in waterand so can be used in liquid jets in personnel control. In additionto lacrimation, it causes eye pain, blepharospasm, eyelidswelling, irritation of the conjunctiva, a rise in intraocularpressure, and erythema of the skin. Because it can be used inwater, its use is less affected by changes in climatic conditions.It is a more potent lacrimator than CS but it is less potent inlethality than CS.

生产及用途

化学性质

带绿色光泽的晶体，磨碎后为红棕色粉末。易溶于醇及稀氢氧化钠溶液，微溶于水。

用途

酸碱提示剂。用20%乙醇配成0.1%溶液或0.04%水溶液（取0.04g该品溶于1.05ml0.1MNaOH溶液），再稀释至100ml。pH变色范围：7.2（黄）-8.8（紫红）；2.0（红）-3.0（琥珀色）。

用途

酸碱指示剂。

生产方法

将苯甲磺酸酐、邻甲酚、无水氯化锌混和，搅拌加热，在115-120℃缩合反应约7h，通水蒸气赶净剩余的邻甲酚。过滤，滤饼用热碳酸钠水溶液溶解，过滤，在清亮滤液中加1：1盐酸中和，剧烈搅拌。滤出结晶，用少量水洗涤，干燥，得成品。必要时可用冰醋酸重结晶提纯。
